Hi there,
I am a 22 year old student studying in England, and last year I had a very bad stomach infection, which meant very severe diarrhoa. I was given anti-biotics, which cleared it up. After a few months the symptons started to re-appear, not as severely, but enough to make life very unpleasant at the moment. Since the infection I have had diarrhoa almost daily, along with cramps, bloating, urgency to go, going around four times a day. The Doctors have said its IBS, which I realised a while ago. I read the student from Wales' post, and can sympathise a great deal, because I sit through most of my early morning lectures, panicking and needing to go to the toilet urgently! It really is awful. I have to sit near the front, so I can leave at any point. I am taking Codeine Phospate, and often have to take Anti-Diarrhoa tablets with it.
I was delighted to find your web site, as your diet made so much sense (I was eating tonnes of bran and fiber to no success). I have tried it for a few days now, and my symptons seem to be worse. Am I doing something wrong? I am trying to find your stated Fibre supplements, but can't at the moment, is this why it's worse?? I can't understand it. I would be grateful for any advice,
Thanks for your help.
