IgG test and elimination diet

I recently had an IgG test done and a few foods came back positive to reactions (all dairy, eggs, brewer yeast, oyster, wheat, peanut, and spelt). My ND suggests i try the elimination diet with the foods that came back positive to see if these are in fact causing symptoms.
Whose had an IgG test done and did you find it to be accurate/helpful?

Im intimidated by the elimination diet-my ND said to avoid these positive foods for 12 weeks then reintroduce (12 weeks?! i thought i've read 2 weeks) foods. Have any of you tried this diet? If so what was your regimen?

Also, (a previous post got me thinking) if people had a IgG reaction to foods couldn't you just take an antihistamine as a prophylaxis?
