I'm new on the board here, and have a question about the Acacia fiber supplement I just started.I had been taking Citrucel, but had to stop due to extreme side effects, which were gas, bloating and cramping. I was on a dose of 6 Citrucel caplets a day. I switched to the Acacia fiber as it is supposed to be more gentle on your system. I looked at Heather's instructions for starting when you switch from another soluble fiber. I started with 1 tsp. of acacia fiber powder in the A.M, and another tsp in P.M.-total 2 tsp a day. I was feeling alright, so I decided to increase after 3 days. I went up to 1 1/2 tsp morning and evening, total 3 tsp a day. Well, the next day, there it was again! Cramps, bloating, and horrible gas. I am SO miserable right now. So I started wondering if perhaps I increased too fast, and am thinking I should go back to the original 2 tsp a day dose. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

* 1/4 tsp twice daily would be the lowest reasonable amount. -nt-

* Yep, you may have increased too quickly...
