Hello,

After a bout of D early this week I have reverted to eating only white rice (and some soy sauce for flavor) and white french bread rolls. I did that for two days, with also 2 level teaspoons (5g) of acacia in the evenings either in water or on the rice. On the third day, yesterday, I added a multivitamin after a large bowl of rice at dinner (because I figured some nutrition would be needed). However, it was a natural vitamin touted as being easy on the stomach and I only took 1/3 a serving, so less than 100% of recommended value vit. c, and smaller than typical portions of the other stuff. That's all I ate, seriously. Over the past two days the D hasn't recurred but I have felt pretty lousy. This morning, I have crampy/gassy pains in my abdomen and though I'm not sure on this, I have the premonition of D around the corner. I'm pretty used to my body signals so I'm being extra cautious.

My question is, what I have ate the last three days is pretty much as restricted a diet as one can have. What is the average amount of time it takes you all to recover from an "attack" day? Would my not feeling better after three days despite following the restriction diet be unusual? A few months ago, blood tests came back negative for gluten problems, and I also did a breath test for SIBO and that came back negative, too. I take Align daily. I was wondering if maybe I have a fructose intolerance, but I have eaten no fructose or derivative thereof in the past three days.

Do I just need to be more patient, could even the small 1/3 portion of multivitamin (specifically designed to be natural and safe to take on even an empty stomach) on a SF full stomach cause a problem, or do my symptoms sound unusual (not that there is a usual I guess) for how IBS should behave? While I wouldn't say I'm "full", I do feel I took in enough each day for a (light) day's worth of calories, so I'm not in calorie starvation mode I'm pretty sure.

Thanks!

EDIT: Blood and stool tests I have taken in the recent past have also ruled out IBD/Chrons, immune issues, parasites, etc. That is to say two separate full stool and blood analyses came back normal.
