Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here and I have been suffering since I was around 12 years old (I'm 27 now). I stumbled upon this site about a year ago after having excruciating pain in my abdomen one day after I ate my lunch at work. I ended up having to go home from work and was in pain for several days. Long story short, I had to do the BRAT diet for a week (bananas, rice, apples and tea) to calm my pain (quickly found out apples didn't help).

I'm still learning what my triggers are, but one thing I HAVE noticed, since I've cut out refined sugars as much as possible, my diarrhea has almost since dissappeared!

I was just wondering if refined sugars were a trigger for anyone else? I have the odd teaspoon of sugar in my tea, but I dont really eat pastries and cookies anymore unless I bake them myself, and even then, I use half the amount of sugar called for.
