can a topical medication cause or aggrevate IBS symptoms?

Hi all,

I recently started a topical ointment called Ziana for a skin complaint. I noticed that this medication contains clindamycin (1.2%). Reading over the leaflet, this particular drug is apparently associated with colitis (i.e., in some cases it can cause it). I'm assuming this is rare, but I was just wondering whether anyone has experienced increased IBS symptoms when taking this medication?

Thanks in advance for any comments,

Chris
