Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi i am new to this IBS i have had it for a long time but just recently started to try to control it better.. the last yr has been pure hell... i continue to have flare ups and eat the safe foods but i am still having the runs off and on. I am just wondering about some of the foods. i live in canada, 1 hour away from ottawa ontario.. it is very hard to find fat free foods like crackers, cookies etc. my town is small. we have a few groceries stores but they never seem to have what i need.. I am getting so frustrated with this IBS...i went shopping in ottawa yesturday and had another flare up!! I can't seem to go anywhere!!.. I get nervous that i will have aflare up... I will be travelling to florida on a plane this yr(first time on a plane) and i am scared to death about having a flare up etc!!! my question is does anyone know where i can get fibrecon in a caplets( i can't drink any of the powder versions i have a hard time swallowing those drinks or putting them in food... i was also wondering if the oatmeal heather talks about is the instant pkgs or the quaker oats?? Ihave a specialist doc in ottawa who has given me meds and my family doc...but they just can't seem to understand the stress and pain i go thru!! i sometimes pass out when a flare up happens...scary!!! I was also wondering if there is a canadian site i can go on to order ibs supplies like fibercon caps etc... thanks carol frustrated !
