HFCS impact on IBS

Did anyone see the Yahoo Health article yesterday on high fructose corn syrup? It was primarily focused on obesity but it repeated the industry spin of HFCS = sugar and you should not worry about eating it.

As an IBS sufferer who dramatically improved his life simply by removing that ingredient from his diet, I would urge IBS-D sufferers to test removing that from their diet. (From looking at the comments to the article it seems as if several other IBS sufferers have had similar success.) Nothing that doctors told me had a similar positive impact on my condition.

I have been able to start traveling again and gotten to a good place by:
(1) Avoiding HFCS
(2) Following much of Heather's book, particularly the learnings on insoluble fiber and the order in which to eat (plus not eating salad)
(3) A box of IBSuppress (IBS Suppress?) in my laptop bag in case things start to percolate.

FYI if you are traveling in Europe and you see glucose-fructose syrup on a label it may be the same thing as HFCS, be careful.

Good luck
