Is that the rice milk you had a bad reaction to? If yes, I'm guessing that the "whole Italian rice" means it has more IF than you can handle. I don't know what Italian rice is exactly, but perhaps the "whole" means "whole grain" or not at all milled.

The rice milk I drink and do fine with has sunflower oil and sea salt (and a few other ingredients), but the rice part of mine says "brown rice (partially milled)". I would suggest you look for rice milk where the rice ingredient either says it's milled, or partially milled, or white rice.

Check this out about brown vs white rice for example: http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/faq.asp#both_fibers

Also, one thing I've learned from these forums is that different foods work for different people. While you might be fine if you can find a different kind of rice milk, it might just be that rice milk in general won't agree with you. As another example of that, the link I included above mentions at the end of the paragraph that oatmeal tends to be one of the best tolerated whole grains for people with IBS, and I've seen others post that they do well with oatmeal, but oatmeal is very bad for my stomach.
