Thanks for clarifying that, Syl. I read quite a few web-sites and came away with an overall impression. Better to say that for some auto-immune conditions, like Crohn's and Sjogren's, Vitamin D deficiency is common, and there may be a causal association, as well as an effect. IBS is also a common symptom for people with immune or hormonal imbalances, and being D-deficient may add to the problems.

I was surprised to learn that my levels were low. I live in a sunny area, fairly "south," and spend quite a bit of time outside.
