Has anyone else been diagnosed with small intestine bacterial overgrowth? I have had severe constipation that is not alleviated by fiber supplements. I had the 3 hour breath test 6 months ago and was diagnosed by my gastro MD. He put me on Rifaxin and I could eat anything. I felt great and ate bacon, baked goods, potato chips without any symptoms. After the treatment of Rifaxin he put me on Zelnorm which actually kept my symptoms away. I did not want to go on it, but it did keep me feeling great. Now that it is unsafe and not on the market anymore, I am on a probiotic. It is called VSL #3. It has not helped me much and I am very constipated and windy again! Has anyone have SIBO? I don't want it to come back, but it will if I don't get rid of the constipation. Does anyone have a probiotic that helps produce regularity each day? I know I am asking for a lot here! I tried Acidopholus a couple of years ago and it made me very constipated. I want a normal gut!!!I would love to hear what you have tried and any suggestions.
