This is something I am just going through right now and (sorry) am so happy to see someone else with the same thing. I have had some tests done and was diagnosed with diverticulitis(they did a barium enema to find it). If you go to webmd they give a good explanation of what it is. They were very surprised to find it in someone my age (35) but one of the causes is long term constipation which I have had with my IBS.
