First, forgive yourself anything and everything you've ever done that had the result of hurting you. No matter what your intentions at the time, commit now to loving yourself from now on...and loving yourself means caring for yourself in every way.

Second. Identify 3 foods that are "safe" for you...no matter what that means to you now. These are foods you feel okay eating and digest well inside of you. If all you will eat are vegetables now, get and add slowly very small amounts of Acacia fiber before eating. Start very small. This will "cushion" the vegetables in soluble fiber - and even if you can't find 3 foods from different food groups to eat, try 3 different kinds of vegetables...just for starters.

When you get comfortable with this, add a second soluble - type fiber food to what you need to call your "self-care times". These are times when you are giving yourself the nutrition you need for your body to function and survive. These "second" foods can be simple and non-threatening. Even non-fat if that is what you prefer. Potato, simple white bread or soft cooked pasta if you like. Not talking large amounts here. One bite for a start...the next day try two bites.

Okay, so you've got the Acacia going, a safe soluble fiber food and your vegetables.

Protein. You need protein. Will you allow yourself small amounts of chicken? Half a hard boiled egg? Don't push it. If you aren't comfortable with it - don't do it. Find a protein source (even if it is green peas/which are extremely high in protein.../after the soluble fiber only!) and take one bite.

I know. You'll try it. Then you'll weigh yourself...or throw it all up. Its okay. What do you do then?

Forgive yourself again...completely.

Then you try again at another "self-care" time.

Okay - the biggie. FAT. Yes, your body needs fat. I'm not going to tell you why - that will be the last part of this lesson.

Choose one fat. 1 gram. 1 measured gram...start there.
A drop of oil...a 1/10th of a teaspoon smeared in. Its 9 calories...no one gained an ounce eating 9 calories...promise.

Okay - Acacia...your soluble fiber food...your veggies...your protein...your fat.

My god woman, you just had a meal. Maybe you threw it all up (again), but face it, you just had your first MEAL. And I mean first. There will be others...repeat, repeat, forgive and try again.
---------------------
The last thing you can do is buy a multi-vitamin and take one every day. In conjunction with this LOOK at the back of that vitamin bottle. Type in each vitamin on the back of that bottle into your computer and LEARN WHY your body needs it. AND WHAT FOODS PROVIDE IT. I am not saying eat any of these foods (now). Just tell yourself you want the KNOWLEDGE now. LATER - much later - you will be able to choose from these foods what is safe for your IBS and what is safe for you personally/comfort level.

That's it. Start small. One thing. Acacia. Then go from there. Remember you have lost alot to this eating disorder - your time, your health and now your present life. But you don't need to lose another minute in that direction. You CHOSE to have an eating disorder (don't take that the wrong way), just meaning that no one forced you to continue it. And now, you will CHOOSE not to have one. Are you not in control of what goes into your mouth?
The reasons behind what you do are all excuses for continuing your negative habit of not giving your body the nutrition it needs. Don't take it wrong...I'm not shaming you - I'm empowering you to reach deep inside and let your body know how much you love yourself. And you will do that by feeding yourself (eventually) healthy nourishment that your physical being needs to survive.

Motivated? Why don't you post here and let us know how it goes.

Peace be with you. Forgive and go on.
