Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I started Heather's diet about 2 months ago and so far so good. I have battle getting people to understand (parents, boyfriend, etc.) that it is not just needing to go the bathroom and reliefing yourself, these are very painful attacks to your stomach. The last attack I had was so severe that I think everyone realized this really was a problem for me. When I started Heather's diet I figured I would get alot of grief and joking from my boyfriend but to tell you the truth, he has been real helpful. If he sees me eating something I have told him before I should not eat, he will remind me that that certain food could cause an attack and says "Why are you eating that, you know it can make you sick." or "Are you suppose to be eating that?" Yeah, I know it sounds nagging but I actually appreciate it because at least I know he has been paying attention to what I am saying and cares enough to help me when my will power is not as strong as it should be. Hang in there, maybe your husband will come around and be more supportive. If not you have everyone here to support you.
