Re: corn syrup vs. high fructose corn syrup       05/24/06 09:54 PM Edit Reply Quote little bear Reged: 12/22/04 Posts: 736 Loc: chicago high fructose corn syrup has much more fructose then regular corn syrup. long-term imbalance of fructose to glucose may contribute to obesity or diabetes but for now, in general it just isnt good for your body to have so much of that stuff. in addition to foods containing HFCS, you also must look out for other preservatives such as sorbitol, mannitol, silicates and any other word you may not be able to pronounce; and color additives too. many of these cause common allergies and bodily upsets. id say the best thing to use is unprocessed, unbleached organic sugar and treats that use it or cane sugar. that way you know youre getting the most pure food which will help you get closer to identifying your triggers. good luck--i hope your daughter feels well again soon -------------------- VEGAN ASHLEY~IBS/C www.myspace.com/dutchflowers Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
