Gluten bad for IBS?

Loc: Smoky Mts.

I've been trying to stablize and have noticed that I can't tolerate soy products, dairy and that if I have bread or crackers, I bloat like no tomorrow and the air doesn't go anywhere. I sat down and looked over my eating habits over the past year and a half. I realize now that there were alot of signs that I didn't understand before my meltdown in August. One of the consistent triggers seemed to be waffles, bread especially whole grain and crackers -whole wheat, that's all I used to eat. I'm sorry to be so wordy,
but is it possible to be super senstive to gluten and wheat, but not Celiac? (I had the test). I've started to be gluten free starting today and my tummy is still flat and I've mixed pureed lentils in with my white rice for the first time and I hurt as when I eat anything, but it was alot better than eating bread. So anyone else have this problem and how did you do without gluten? How soon could you tell a diff.? Thanks -Jenny
