Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I have both forms of IBS. It used to be that I would go a few days without having a bowel movement and when it did happen. It was painfull. The gas pains and cramping. I thought I would keel over. I had a colonoscopy and they decided it was definetly IBS with constipation. So, my doctor prescribed Zelnorm. I was very excited until I read in the warnings not to take if you have D. Which I do. Infact in the last couple of weeks the D has gotten worse than the C. So I am stuck, The doctor suggested only taking the Zelnorm when the C got bad, but I don't see how that would help and when I do take it I still have bad cramping which triggers my anxiety disorder, which until the IBS started I had completely under control. I'm am starting to get to the point where I can't leave my house and that scares me because I am not that kind of person. Any help any at all I would appreciate. I can't seem to get my problem under control and it is really taking its toll on my life. By the way I have made five trips to the bathroom while writing this.
