I have been researching online the words candy coated fennel and never imagined there was so much information. I buy mine at the tea shop that I go to, which is a small new business here in Bellingham, but you might want to check with you local tea specialty shops or see if you have an Indian as in India, food store in your area.
The lady at our tea store grew up in Canada but her Grandparents were from India. She says that ever since she was little her mom would bake her cupcakes and on top of the frosting on the top she would sprinkle these candy coated fennel seeds. She says she always just thought it was candy. But her family has always offered them after eating or even before eating.
I am now the proud owner of one big Fennel Bulb, now I have to figure out how to cook it. A fennel bulb comes with the stalks and stuff on it, it should look clean and green. I am gonna try drying out the stalks and finery kinda like dill weed. Not sure what else to do with it.
IF YOU ALL WANT TO TRY EXPERIMENTING WITH FENNEL: Go check at your local grocer and ask if they have fennel bulb. I am gonna see where else I can find recipies on cooking it. If I run into any good safe recipies I will share them here, but any suggestions from anyone else would be appreciated.
