Picked up one of those small rice heat pads last year. Just pop them in the microwave for a minute and you have heat. But the heat only seems to last for about 15min. Was told that flax seed works better than the rice ones.

Electric heat pads are not realy practical when you are at work or travaling.

Water bottles seem a little messy. And leaking in bed would be a problem.

Was looking in the drug store and found the Thermacare pads I saw on TV. $8 for a box of 2. Picked up a box of Cura-Heat, 3 for $2.75. They say they last for 12 hours but they don't seem to get very hot.

If anyone had been or had a brother or sister in scouts. Or a family member that hunts then you know about the heat pads they use in thier gloves and socks in the winter. You can pick these up at dollor stores. They last about 4-8 hours, and some get hotter than the medical ones. The pads are a bit more rustic, but with a little creative sowing you can make a little cloth pouch for them.
