Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I'm new to this site and the message boards; it is a relief to find so many knowledgeable people willing to share information... I thought I was normal and continued to eat what everyone else eats, although I couldn't understand why it hurt to digest food. I thought I was eating healthy - salad, celery sticks, broccoli, cheese, red meat - ugh!!

Here is where I am at - this week I had my second fainting spell after seriously intense cramps. I refer to it as 'an Elvis move' and it isn't pretty. I get extremely bad cramping and my body heats up to the point where I take off my clothes. In fact, this time it really frightened me. I went to the Dr. (again - I just had the gallbladder ultrasound and everything was normal) and they are now referring to it as a severe case of IBS, etc.

Bound and determined to not eat until I pass out (my head just can't take it) I am here for all the insights and eating help I can get. I've ordered Heather's books and should receive them soon.

I'm curious if anyone else has fainted/passed-out and if anything helps. It was scary this time knowing what was happening and not being able to stop it.
