Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Maybe this will never end

I've been through the mill for over a week trying to get an appointment with the GI Specialist. The nurse (I call her Ratchett) kept saying he has no openings for the rest of the year. I was doing well for 3 weeks and then have been out sick from work due to diarrhea since Saturday. The nurse asked me if I had a fever. I told her that during "D" attacks, I get a fever and then later chills. She asked how high the fever is. I don't take my temp during these attacks, but thought maybe if I said I had a high enough one, she'd get me in to see the doc. So I said 101. Now she says that is not normal for IBS people and that I might have something else wrong me and should get blood tests. Again, I explained that I've heard of many people on the internet getting fever and chills, even terrible sweating. This is ruining my life. She finally called me back and said they had a cancellation for Thursday afternoon, but I have to get blood tests before I go in. She already told me he will not do any paperwork regarding my application for Social Security Disability, because all I have is "IBS." I tried Miralax due to "C" problems a few months back and it caused me to be out of work for 2 months, so I don't ever want to take that again. Any advice as to what I should tell him to reinforce the seriousness of this?
