I've been using Pamine for about 4-5 years now. I used to take Pamine before just about every meal, but found it constipated me and made my mouth/throat SO dry. It really helped to control the D, of course, but after a while I realized that I could actually just have soluable fiber supplements (Fibercon) prior to most meals, and I'd still be fine (no D reaction). Now, I only take it before a questionable meal or if I'm feeling uneasy. I have no other side effects besides the dry mouth if I take more than one pill (2.5 MG). They also prescribe it in 5 MG, but that's more for taking it every day as maintenance (my mom takes it for that) - for more severe cases. Anyway, I don't think it caused heartburn or GERD, but just ask a pharmacist to be sure. Those symptoms just started for me a few months ago and are typically only present for me when I eat anything with heavy tomato sauce or acidic sauce. So, I don't think you need to worry about that. Give it a shot. It really did help my D symptoms ALOT!

You can take the Pamine on an empty stomach or just before meals...whenever.

So, right now it's about 9:30 and I've had 7 trips to the potty. Still just D and no pain

Thanks for your tip on when to stop taking the Fleet! Hopefully, it'll just be water soon.

I can't wait to eat again. I'm so sick of eating yellow things (chicken broth, lemon JELLO, Gatorade/ginger ale)!
