Thanks for the well wishes! Well, I've had 3 "evacuations" so far since drinking the Fleet 2.5 hours ago, still no pain. I brought in some good magazines and lit a scented candle to make the experience a little more pleasant. Also, I used vaseline on the "offending area" so that I don't feel so raw after this is all done. I asked my husband to pick up some ginger ale and orange flavored Pedialyte for me to mix and drink. I've heard that's a good mixture over crushed ice to help keep you hydrated. I have to drink the other 1.5 oz bottle at midnight.
I control my IBS-A with Acacia (2 TBSP/day), and through a mostly soluable fiber diet, with some insoluable fiber (almonds, salad, etc.). Yoga is also great for me as I tend to have attacks under stress. But, I haven't had a D attack in a long time since starting the Acacia and Yoga. I also use Pamine (antispasmodic) as needed. I have mostly regular BMs (usually no pain anymore), but they are typically accompanied by mucous which is one of the reasons I decided to finally go for the colonoscopy/endoscopy. The other reason is that I started having some GERD symptoms, so the new gastro doc I went to suggested these tests. My next step is probably a stool analysis. Just one step at a time. But, it's definitely gotten more controllable since starting the Acacia.
Well, that's probably more than you wanted to know! But I promise to keep you posted on how this whole thing goes, as I understand your nervousness. I've been kind of nervous this week, but am glad it's going ok so far, and you have to remember that it's only 1 day out of your life, and it could bring either answers to your problems or at least the peace of mind that there isn't something more serious happening...
