I always had a "sensitive stomach' but my IBS did not kick in until five years ago. I caught a GI disease that was going around the day camp where I worked. I landed in the hispital for five days where they dosed me with three different antibiotics and then two weeks later I developed colitis from the antibiottics. They cured the colitis with more antibiotics (and I got treated to my first cholonoscopy) Since then my digestive system just hasn't been the same. I didn't know it was IBS until last year but that's what it was. I'm C mostly, and occasionaly get a bout of D. It's sooooooooo frustrating to think that while most people walked away from this "bug" OK I still have to be careful.
