It may or may not help some of you but I was diagnosed with IBS and suffered from both constipation and gas to the point that I was miserable. Then the last week of May 2005 I received news that I had breast cancer. The good thing was that the cancer was smaller than the width of a hair and only required that the area be surgically removed. I did not have to go through any chemo or radiation and the doctors feel certain this is all behind me.
However, because I was diagnosed with breast cancer I changed my way of eating. I now eat only whole foods (rice, pastas, breads); organic foods (meats, fruits, veggies, eggs, dairy etc.). I also drink a green drink supplement, lots of water, green & white tea and occasionally tomatoe juice (again all orgainic). I have also expanded my veggie intake to eat a lot of greens, i.e. kale, bok choy and spinach; no sugar; no processed foods and a few other changes. I guess if you have read this far you are wondering where this is all going. Well, as a result of changing my eating habits my IBS is gone. I now have bowel movements daily and no more gas. It is amazing how much my body has changed with the change in diet in just three months.
Just wanted to share.
