It can be a blow to find this out..but consider yourself very lucky that you got a diagnosis NOW and not later. You can reverse the damage that has been done to your small intestines now before any more damage is done. Having IBS doesn't bother me, but this does. As it should..IBS is not life threatening, but Celiac Disease can be. Everything I like has wheat in it. AAGGGGHHHHH !!! Oh I know, it seems so unfair doesn't it..but there are some fabulous wheat substitutes out there..you'd be surprised. Over time you'll find you can do quite nicely without it and you'll start to feel better.
