Am IBS-D with some C. For at least 20 years. Has been getting worse lately; used to be able to eat dairy, etc. with reaction (bloating) but not bad attacks. Now it is flared, big time, and I've ordered Heather's books, am trying her acacia fibre (have to only use 1/4 tsp./day right now) and probiotics. Will be introducing peppermint oil capsules of hers soon (tried them before 3 x /day and got the runs!).

Anyways, a couple questions: I'm 43 and peri-menopausal - does that make a difference to the increase in symptoms?

Also, I can't use soy (make the bloating way worse) so am trying to use almond milk & rice milk. Does anyone know if there is a Canadian source for almond cheese? If such a thing exists.
