Maria, it is amazing that your symptoms are similar to mine! I am well aware that I suffer from anxiety. Its in my character, I have always been the anxious type. It came to a point about a year and a half ago where I could not cope with it anymore. Thats when my stupid generalist prescribed Xanax for me which I unfortunately ended up taking for 4 months. Nobody was following my progression, so there was nobody to help me taper of and start learning to cope with my anxiety without the meds. Well, as a matter of fact, the Xanax nearly killed me because most of these symptoms occured whilst on them. Thats when I discovered a benzodiazepine addiction website and all of my symptoms where clearly in there! I panicked and went almost cold turkey, and that unfortunately is a big no no with these types of drugs.
Anyways, to keep a long story short, ever since, I refuse categorically to take any meds, especially if they belong to the benzo class. I will have to learn to deal with my anxiety the natural way and I dont need to convince you as to how difficult that can be!
As for your last paragraph regarding the doctors advice on having the colonoscopy, not one of the specialists that I saw ever suggested that I may need a colonoscopy. That was part of the dilemma for me because if it had been suggested, I told myself that I would do it. Some people on this board say that they dont trust doctors, and I can understand because I also question them as well. But if you have seen four specialists and they all say the same thing, odds are that they are right, wouldnt you say?
