i just started an elimination diet as suggested by my allergist. i have already been scratch tested for certain foods already and i reacted to chicken, eggs, beef, dairy, yeast, and vinegar. after cutting out these foods i was feeling better but still not 100% so the only way to see what other foods i react to is to try the elimination diet.
well, i started on sunday and i am only allowed to eat the "safe" foods which are lamb, turkey, potatoes (no skin), rice, yams, spinach, canned peaches and a few other canned fruits (which is impossible to find)lettuce, salt and olive oil. sunday i was good with lamb, rice, potato, rice cakes, yams and peaches. yesterday i ate lamb and rice and yams for lunch and was totally fine but then for dinner i ate turkey, pototoes, and cooked spinach and had major 'd' within 30 min.
was it the spinach????? are to much yams bad?? if i am allergic to chicken should i not eat turkey too????
i assumed that eating the 'safe' i would be ok and that i would only feel sick once i started other foods. i am just getting a little discouraged and would appreciate and advise.
