Welcome! The first thing everyone is going to tell you is you HAVE to get tested to eliminate other illnesses that have similar symptoms of IBS. Once everything else has been eliminated as the cause for GI upset, then you can rest easy knowing that it is IBS and nothing else. What are your symptoms? There is IBS-C (if you are mainly constipated) or IBS-D (if you are mainly diarrhea). Do you know certain triggers that make your sypmtoms worse? How long have you been suffering?

There are a lot of forums to post and read in and you can do a search for specific info that you are wondering about.(From symptoms to advice to recipes). There are so many thing that we all go through and have already posted about that you may find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. Have you read or seen Heather's books? There is a link back on the front page of this forum that will bring you to a lot of info that she has online.

So, you should see your doc and see a GI specialist to confirm IBS, let us know your symptoms and some details and there will be lots of people to help guide you through the joy of IBS.
