Then we switched to Miralax which was more effective. She is still on Miralax but only 1 tsp per day and we are gradually (emphasize gradually) weaning her off of it. She still will start to hold if she feels discomfort. The doctor says Miralax is not addictive; however, I feel that the body adjusts to the extra water that it puts in the colon. Because when I drop her dosage too much, her stool is extremely dry and uncomfortable, so of course, she holds again. When only taking mineral oil or Miralax once a day, she takes it at night before bed. When taking it twice a day, she took it first thing in the morning and before bed. She drank the mineral oil in milk and never objected to it. She knew it helped her "poop." Hope this helps. Sherri Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
