Hi,
I think I have had ibs for a while, but I am still not sure, but I fit every symptom. I am also lactose intolarant and have been for at least six years. I have been following what to eat when you can't eat anything diet for about a week and all of my stomach problems went away. The only thing now is that I want some variety, just no pain
If I could hug each and every one of you I would, because coming here as made me feel like I am not alone, and that this isn't going to stop my life, as I was feeling when I first started to realize that I probably have IBS.
I was starting to feel alone and depressed because it seem like eating socially was such a major part of life. I had already lived with lactose intolernces and know how hard it was when everyone goes out for ice cream, or just wanting ice cream or whatever dairy treats.
But coming here and lurking for the past week and seeing all the wonderful recipes and substitutes, I actually feel overwhelmed with what I can eat, as oppossed to underwhelmed about what I couldn't eat.
I have lots of questions, but mainly how can I go from the basic diet to incorporating a more ibs rich diet. I am afraid I will have another attack if I stray from my baked potato, corn pops, plain bagel, or plain sourdough grilled chicken sandwhich. As you can see, that's why I have been depressed the last week.
Thank you a million times, and I look forward to getting to know you all!
kiki
