Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Need help figuring out a routine!

Hi- I am new to this diet and board. I have had IBS for about a year and I have never heard anything from my doc about changing my diet. He just gave me some prescriptions to try and see if they helped.. and they didnt.
Ok- I am going to try and eat 5 to 6 small meals a day..
Also drink about 2 cups of peppermint or fennel tea.
As far as the Acacia and peppermint caps go.. how do they work and when and how often do you take them?
I just ordered them off of the website.
I am mostly just D everyday. And cramping a lot in between going to the bathroom. Plus I have major anxiety about my IBS so that leaves at home a lot.I have had several times when I felt like I couldnt get to a bathroom in time and I felt like I was going to go on myself!! So when I go places I have to drive and I prefer to be in the car alone. I am a college student and I actually taking a semester off to see if I can get my system straight.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
