Figuring it out (trigger foods)

I'm trying to figure out what my specific trigger foods are and what toleration I have for some of the common trigger foods. I try to avoid them all, but lately I've been isolating certain triggers to figure out what my tolerance is. For example I love yogurt and frozen yogurt, so I eat it every now and then, but sometimes I don't feel sick and sometimes I do. Is it the yogurt? Is it stress? Something else? Last night I ate yogurt and felt sick right after, but wouldn't it take hours for it to get to my colon? My gastro interologist told me that the body releases a hormone to start digestion when you eat, but that food doesn't get to the colon for hours, so if I feel sick right after it wouldn't be the yogurt causing the problems, would it?

Thanks!
