Question about "bulk-forming" supplements and stool size

Can anyone tell me which soluble fiber supplement will help the most with forming "normal" size stools that hold together? (Or, as my husband calls them, "Big Logs" lol.) Things are moving through better and I am getting better stool consistency - I am just trying to figure out which of the several things I am doing is helping the most.

It seems like for me the Citrucel helps more with this than Benefiber. The label on Citrucel calls it "bulk forming" but the Benefiber does not. Does it have something to do with the gel consistancy that Citrucel turns into and which Benefiber does not?

Can anyone tell me if the acacia fiber is considered "bulk-forming"? Will it produce a closer to normal (larger) stool size?

Or, am I getting this completely wrong because it is the INsoluble fiber that will bulk up the stools and help to hold them together into one big piece? (OK, I can't believe I just wrote that....!!!)

Thanks,
Jackie - IBS-C
