Earlier last week I was surfing along on-line looking for resources regarding IBS. My better half is an IBS sufferer and I wanted to learn more.
From the books I found at the book store (made myself a nice list from the web research) I read the first 20 or 30 pages of each one. A simple hands down 100% recomendation if anyone reading the forums has not yet bought a book on IBS and is looking for one, I found Heathers to be the best informative read, with a selection of outstanding recipes. I bought the lady a copy as a gift and we have both loved it.
I had some problems changing my cooking styles/techniques to be palatable for a young woman with IBS, food allergies (Onion *migraine trigger*, cucumber, melons, bananas, etc) however the book gave me some good ideas on substitutes, its fun learning to cook with new things anyhow right With the selection of recipes given, I get the general idea of what type of preparation and ingredients I can mix into my cooking for her.
Great book, great community with the forums, from a non IBS sufferer standpoint as well you all offer a great resource
-Mike
