I've been having some anxiety about eating in restaurants. Last night I went to a grill with my parents and boyfriend and ordered a highly specialized grilled chicken sandwich (no mayonaise, no tomato, no lettuce, no butter). I also devoured a ton of bread before my meal (I stuck mostly to plain bread but I had one piece of bread with sesame seeds on it) and made sure that I didn't drink my water on an empty stomach. This morning I had a bit more trouble than usual and I'm trying to figure out what went wrong. For lunch that day, I had a grilled chicken sub on Italian bread from Subway.
Which seasonings can irritate IBS?
Also, my mom suggested "blotting" food with a napkin if it looks too greasy or buttery. Does this really get rid of all the triggers or does the oil/butter/grease soak its way into the food?
