Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hi there. I am a brand new member, and I can't tell you how happy I am to see there is a forum in which I can discuss my problem. Here is a little info about me....I recently went to the doctor about these lower right, sharp, abdominal pains, which, by the way, I have had for years. He referred me to a GI Dr. who ran all the tests. I meet with him Monday to get the results of the latest round of tests, as all the rest have been negative. While all this testing has been going on, I decided to do some research and purchased a couple books, including yours Heather, and they have opened my eyes so wide! Once I put it all together (and having spoken to my mother), I realized I have had IBS symptoms since I was 8 years old. BTW, I am 35 now. I am trying to learn what I can about IBS and finding this site/message board made my day. Although I won't officially know if I have IBS until Monday, I will still practice the habits I have already learned and hopefully will learn from those of you willing to share.
