New here, and leaving here...

Well, turns out there might be a reason why following the IBS diet hasn't solved some issues for me: I don't have IBS. My primary care doc diagnosed it with such certainty and enthusiasm that I just figured he was right, and it did seem to sort of fit. Today another doc threw cold water all over THAT! I must say, this came as a shock. The new diagnosis is "I don't know what you have, but it ain't IBS!"
Whether this is "good news" or "bad news" I'm not really sure. Quite frankly, I'm well beyond caring WHAT we call this; I just want it to get better, and oh yeah, I'd like to occasionally be able to eat a vegetable!
To all of you, thanks for the kind and helpful words. You have a wonderful community here and I hope it stays that way. Keep on keeping on, and I will, too.
And just one piece of parting advice: be sure of the diagnosis! It just might make a difference!
