Hi, I have also had constipation, My words of wisdom are this; All meat and dairy are very constipating in addition to being IBS triggers. Also, white rice is somewhat constipating. I eat do white rice, but with lots of veggies (pumpking, squashes, etc) and this helps. I also eat millet, and oatmeal. If you eat enough starchie veggies and no meat, you should be able to correct the constipation. If you can tolerate magnesium, you might trying supplementing extra magnesium, this helps get things moving, but it irritates my colon so I don't use it anymore.
I hope this helps.
I follow a strict vegan diet (with no nuts or oils) and it has helped my symptoms tremendously.
Mary
