Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | I'm new here but not new to IBS

Hello all you sufferers. I am 53 years old and have had IBS all my life I think. There is the best information here and from Heather than I have ever seen! I had IBS-C as a child and when I hit about 20 years old, it became more IBS-D. I would like to share few things you may already know or It may help some. You are right on track Heather but not many that haven't went through this will agree with you. First of all the LAST thing I learned was to leave Soda's alone. I thougth I drank them all my life it couldn't be that. WRONG! The fructose added to them kill me. Also the fructose in candies such as orange slices do the same. It took me years to find out about the fructose. Doctors used to say sip Colas or soft drinks when you have D to replace the fluids. That was the worst advice you can get. It just keeps the D going. White bread is a blessing. I have it at every meal. I eat three meals a day and take three fibercon tablets with each meal. If I eat anything between meal I will either have c or d or both. I am doing much better but it took years to figure it all out. I wish I could have just came to this site rather than learn it all the hard way. Good luck all.
