Well, I bought some psyllium husk powder today in lieu of the much more expensive capsules; however, when I tried to drink it dissolved in water I just couldn't get it down! I tried stirring into applesauce and that was worse!!

Any ideas???? I know most juices are out. What else can I drink it in???

Have you tried tea??? I think I would have sprung for the pills, but that is just me.
Good Luck

Tea might work although drinking this stuff warm might be pretty gross.

I wonder if there are any cold flavored beverages that are an option?

Try it with cold soy or rice milk. Add a dash or vanilla essence or a teaspoon of carob. Shake up in a cocktail mixer and its really palatable.

Hold your nose and distract yourself. I always did something like read a magazine when I first starting taking it. Cold is def. best.

Or switch to Acacia like I did!

How well do you tolerate cranberry juice? I know that's one of the few juices that I can tolerate and it does an excellent job of hiding the taste of bad medicines.

Hope this helps,

I take psyllium. My guaranteed goop-advoidance technique is:

Put 8 oz of water in a glass. (or 4oz pineapple juice and 4 oz water, even better
Add 1 rounded tsp of psyllium
Stand at sink and stir vigorously
Drink IMMEDIATELY all in one go.
But don't drain the last little gritty dregs
Have a sip or two of clear water.

If I were to let it sit and get goopy, I'd never drink it either!! Don't worry, you'll get used to it. I actually LIKE it now, but then I've always been weird!!
