Hi there

Was shown a move to help digestion where you part-squat, expel all your breath, suck your stomach in under your ribs & rub in a clockwise direction. I think they're called Bundas (pls excuse spelling mistakes).

Are they ok for us?

Hi There,

What you referring to is called Uddiyana Bandha which is an abdominal lock used in yoga to redirect energy (amongst other things). The lifting of the diaphragm tones, massages & revitalizes the abdominal organs and region and also helps to elimate toxins. Uddiyana bandha also effects the adrenal glands and the pancreas. If you are to practice it, make sure to do so on a completely empty stomach and also make sure that you have been taught properly... hopefully by a yoga teacher or the like. it has been said to be good for constipation... if you are IBS D then you might want to see if you find it too stimulating for you although my feeling is that if it is helping you to strengthen your digestive organs it will ultimately be a good thing. Hope this helps.

Peace,
K
