Yoga can help, but it is an idea to go gently on the abs at first! But you can still do ALOT of yoga without straining those muscles.

Also, have you tried this diet, a SFS, peppermint/fennel/chamomile teas, anti-spasmodics and heat therapy?

I second what Linz just said. I did really hard yoga the other night and tore up my stomach muscles and have been having cramps and attacks for the past couple of days because my muscles are soooo very sore! I can't hardly move them.....if I do, I have an attack! And this week is my cycle! Sometimes I really wonder about myself!!

YET, ANOTHER LESSON LEARNED THE HARD WAY!! LOL!

Good Luck and remember to go EASY on the abs!

You a horse lover by any chance?

Try posting on the Eating For IBS forum...that's the one for all IBS and IBS diet posts. LOTS of support there.

Most people fall off the wagon a few times when they're starting....usually they eventually realise that it's just not worth the pain! And remember that once you are stable, you will be able to push the boundaries a little and cheat occasionally with far fewer and less serious consequences. It really makes a huge difference.

And taking a SFS every day is easy and also makes a big difference. I take my Acacia twice a day - once in my breakfast oatmeal/cereal/scrambled eggs/tea and in a cup of warm soy milk before bed. REALLY helps keep me stable no matter what else is going on.
