Hello Everyone
This is my first post on this board. I have been wanting to try yoga for years but have always talked myself out of it. I am 5'10 and about 100 pounds over weight and I am afraid I would feel and look like an idiot trying to do the moves. I have recently lost 35 pounds doing heather's diet ( I am still having a hard time giving up dairy but I am getting there) I have a hard time in new places with new people because i think everyone is staring or making comments about my weight, I know most of this is in my head
I would just buy a tape but I know it will just sit there. I need a class to get going and keep me keep going. Double edge sword. So my question is, are there overwieght people in classes or just already healthy fit people? I know this sounds stupid, but it is the majior reason i have never done yoga or joined a gym. I am hoping if I work up enough courage to go it will help the IBS and depression.
Thanks

Thanks Shell
I think I may give it a try. My GP is all for it and has been pushing me to try it for about two years. I have been seeing since I was five and she realy acts like a mom to me sometimes I just don't want to feel embaressed and then get depressed because of it. Nasty little circle I have.
Thanks

I realy don't have one. Since I started Heather's diet I have just started dropping weight. I would love to weigh about 165. I think I look real good with a few cruves. I weigh (oh god I can't belive I am going to admitt this) 264.
Nobody but my mom and hubby know that!!

I have been reading about your weight loss.
YOU ROCK GIRL

Please do not feel badly. The best thing about yoga is that each pose you work only as much as you can and no one pushes or goads you in any way. It is a personal exercise, and you will see that you get better the more you do it. The deep breathing is peaceful and relaxing, and the moves, while some are complicated, are simple (the introductory ones). Hope you do not give up on this as it works marvelously. God bless you and give you the fortitude to do this for yourself and not give a rat's @#$ what anyone thinks. (You will be amazed how few people actually are judging, they are too concerned with their own efforts.) Joyce
