So many IBS recipes call for soy products as a substitute for dairy. I am allergic to soy so this excludes so many of the recipes. Is there a substitute for soy?

They make a rice butter-like substance (although the brand I found does contain casein, but only 3 grams of fat per tablespoon compared to 11 grams of fat in the soy-based butters I found), and I'm pretty sure there is a rice-based ice-cream (I think it's called rice dream, by the same company that make soy-dream).
