Some years back I decided to up my protein intake, and began eating tuna. I'd eaten tuna all my life without any problems. This time I began having horrible episodes, worse than any others. So after I illiminated the tuna, my bowel really settled down. After this happened, I began to steer clear of ANY and ALL seafoods... But now I really want to try some baked fish or shrimp, but am so paranoid over the tuna that I won't even try a bite of seafood.

Any suggestions or anyone else with similar experience???

Thanks,
Meg

Did you try a new brand of tuna? Did the ingredients in the tuna change? This could be the culprit! Ingredients are always changing--so you can eat the same food for years--and wham! They change the ingredients on ya. Check it out. If they didn't change the ingredients, you could have developed an allergy...or it might have been a fluke. Were you eating tuna everyday?

I hope this will help you at least begin to figure things out. If I can help you out any further, I'd be glad to!

*hugs*

Meg,

I wonder if the tuna was packed in oil? Those types are very high in fat. I use tuna in springwater and it only has 0.5g fat per serve (95g).

Most people have no problem with fish and it is really good for you. I would try just a small amount, maybe salmon, whitefish or a few prawns if you can't stand the thought of the tuna. Also eat it with a good high SF base such as rice.

Best of luck,
Kerrie

Hi - well, I'm still in the early stages of figuring out what I can and can't eat but I was tested for food allergies (only 24 and more testing is being done), but discovered that my body had a slight allergic reaction to tuna! Totally blew me away! Have you been tested for food allergies? You might be surprised!

hI; I could never handle tuna (never stayed with me ) until I started having it in a sandwich with french bread, recipe in heather's book, and the tuna casserole, soluble fibres(BREADS ) are really filling.
