Fish Question?

I've heard on the news lately that women are supposed to limit their fish intake due to high levels of mercury. Has anyone else heard this? If so, does this include all fish? If not all, then which ones? I love fish so much that if I could, I would eat it every night!

That was really helpful. I don't really eat any of the ones that were listed under "ok once a month", so I guess I'm ok.
Are you a cat lover too? (re: my pics)

Yes...my wonderful hubby! We were just married in Jamaica in January. I am young, though not as young as I look. We're both 32 years. The cats are the only children we have, although we are trying to concieve currently. What about you?

Thanks for the good luck, we seem to need it. With my C, #1 it's really hard to feel well enough to try, and #2 It's hard to tell when my tummy will be able to handle pregnancy. I guess it gets worse during the first few months. UGH!
Jamaica was awesome! It was the two of us and two friends who are married to eachother. [image][/image]
I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

Anyway, I have to work early tomorrow so I am going to say goodnight. Nice talking to you and I am glad you found us and the site! Have a great night!
p.s - i have been calling you becky all this time and now i see your name is rachel?!? sorry! anyway, my name is Caryn

To answer your question about meds...no I'm not. I haven't actually been diagnosed. I had a colonoscopy done a couple weeks ago, and they left a message on my machine saying that "my tests were normal", whatever that means. Obviosly things aren't normal, or I wouldn't be here. Anyway, considering the fact that Eric and I want to start a family, I'm avoiding meds as much as possible. I was hoping that following this diet would help me. Of which I have to say, I'm still feeling C! Not quite so bad, but not the way I want it either. I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong. I have a fast metabolism, so when I eat, I tend to eat a lot. (I always feel hungry when I eat a little at a time.) Anyway, sorry to go on and on, I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I have PMS right now too, so I'm sure things seem worse than normal. Do you think I should be taking meds?? What are you taking?

I saw a mention about mercury and fish here every now and then, but was always afraid to ask what fish was good and what was bad. I'm VERY happy to see that my favorites - tilapia, salmon, shrimp, catfish - are all on the "good" list.

Hi Casey.
Oh, it was the most relaxing, most beautiful wedding I had ever been to. Glad it was mine. I would recommend it to anyone, and it saved us a lot of money!

I definitely have similar symptoms that you do and IT IS SO NICE TO FINALLY HAVE PEOPLE WHO TRULY UNDERSTAND. YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!! (lol maybe YOU DO!)
As for meds, I can't say whether or not you need them. My Zelnorm experiment was a bust - didnt work...so I am back to square one again.
BTW dont worry about going on and on i want to hear it!
And dont worry about feeling sorry for yourself. Sorry but sometimes we gotta!!!!!

Oh thanks. You know I've only been posting since July 1st, and it's been quite a bit, I think. Anyway, I get worried that I'm "whining", and I don't want to sound that way. I really enjoy giving other people whatever advice I can give, and hope that all you guys continue the same with me. Even if I'm still suffering (feeling like I'm gonna explode), I feel better about everything emotionally!!! Thanks again for listening, and know that I'm here for ya ANYTIME!!!! (I'm pretty much on all the time, I only work 2 days a week.)

I have to get this off my chest....
It's so funny, the word "newbie". I know what you mean when you use it here, but I have to tell ya...growing up, that's what my family calls, ahem...kitty boobies. (sorry, hope I didn't offend anyone there.) So that's what I think of whenever I hear that word. Just FYI!!!

Actually, I think it's just for women who plan on getting pregnant in the future. It's really a pet peeve of mine when news stories say "women must do X", when you only have to do X if you plan on reproducing.

I have not been pregnant and will not ever be so, so I'm eating all the tuna I want!
