Have any of you guys ever made the RKTs with anything besides Rice Krispies? I keep buying this stuff, but hubby keeps eating it, then when I go to the cupboard to make the RKTs, the cereal is all gone! ARGHHH!

I have the marshmallows and the cocoa, but no Rice Krispies. How would low-fat granola work? Honey Bunches of Oats? Shredded Wheat? Cheerios?

Worms?

I used to make treats out of Cheerios! At the time, I added a bit of peanut butter to them, but I think they'd be just as good without. The low-fat granola and Honey Bunches of Oats (my favorite! yum!) would *work*, but depending on how sweet your tooth is, they might be too sweet. (I'd omit the cocoa on those, definitely.)

I'd skip on the worms, personally, but...

Ya Bev I think any of those would be great (uh, well not worms!) But that recipe is VERY adaptable and I am sure would taste yummy with any of those cereals you can eat. Mmmmm RKT's!!!

I find RKT's to be pretty sweet - and thats just cos of the marshmellows - the rice krispies arent sweet at all. So maybe if you make it with a sweeter cereal (which would taste delicious I'm sure) maybe dont add as much 'mellows
Let me know how they turn out!

Yes -- I made it once with cocoa krispie cereal (already sweet) and the resulting product was too sweet to eat just about. We had to cut it in very small pieces and the kids ate most of it. It's better with a non-sweet cereal.

I remember someone saying they used Rice Chex instead of Rice Krispies because they don't have the high fructose syrup in them.

Several people responded saying they were really good - though I personally haven't tried them - I'm not a big marshmallow fan.
