In Heather's Sloppy Joe recipe she suggests the TVP product. I did a quick search on the is list and found where people have discussed the use of this - but I am curious about the calories of TVP. Anyone know? Any WeightWatcher people have a "point" reading on using this?

Thanks,
Lily.

HI LL and welcome to the IBS Boards. Nice to see another East Coaster (I'm from NJ living in CA) posting.

I also do WW and I've not even tried to find the point value of TVP, but I do use it in the WW Taco Soup--about 3 tablespoons in the whole pot. It soaks up quite a bit of the juice and tends to thicken it, too. I also use FF refried beans instead a can of black beans because of the insoluble fiber in blk beans. The soup quite agrees with me, although I have changed it quite a bit from the orig recipe! I just love to improvise!

I was thinking of making Heather's Sloppy Joes with low fat ground turkey or Yves soy "ground beef" or "Mexican Beef", which I've used in two other recipes and my husband didn't know the difference. In fact, he seemed "ticked off" a bit when I told him a few days later. I think because he couldn't tell...and it was good for him.

Again, welcome, and don't be hesitate about posting any questions--we've heard them all by now!

My WW book says 1 point for 1/3 cup dry.

Hope this helps.
